The Coming Storm: SPOILERS about Bryn

Surprise! "Bryn" is actually Emrys, a bounty hunter on a job. Emrys took Bryn's place on the Cloud Chaser in order to chase a bounty across the sea. He's no sailor, though he manages to blend in as one well enough to get the job done.

Emrys's poor attitude is mostly due to having to hide his identity. He hates liars, cheats, and swindlers. Most of the bounties he picks up are criminals who have somehow escaped the law's grasp - people whose bounties are put forth to the Hunters' Guild by the victims or their families. His sense of honor is strong, and it dictates his entire life. Becoming a liar temporarily has put him in a horrible mood. Emrys has a fair sense of humor and is overall pleasant to be around when he isn't forcing himself to pretend to be someone (and something) he isn't.

Of course, he's still a hotheaded asshole who won't back down from an issue without a fight.

Bryn was Emrys's father. He died shortly before Emrys boarded the Cloud Chaser. Emrys is still torn up and grieving the loss of his father. To "cope," he's thrown himself into tracking down his bounty target - it was the last thing Bryn ever asked of him, and he's determined to see it through to the end.
