Entry 3 - 11/18/2024

I've been doing a lot of crosswords lately. It's a hobby that comes and goes, I've found. I'll do them over on the Washington Post website, since they publish a new one every day at midnight. Sometimes I'll do it right at midnight if I'm awake and bored. More often, I'll do them when I wake up or in the middle of the day as a break.

It's important to have these meaningless little routines. Having them be intellectually stimulating with a finite end where I'll be able to put it down and walk away once I'm finished is really crucial. There's no "just one more" with daily crosswords. It's one and done. Satisfying and time consuming, but not all-consuming.

Especially during this season. Between sickness, events, holidays, family gatherings... scheduling a quiet little activity for myself is important. Particularly activities that have no consequences if I miss a day or two.

Year ahead tarot readings are up, and I already have a couple readings in the queue. It's gonna be a busy season!!
